buy buy buy!The monastic staff, board members, and students of Gaden Shartse Thubten Dhargye Lingsend you our most sincerest and warmest wishes on this Tibetan New Year. May it be filled with love, laughter, and peace!
1. A "Tsokchen Tulku" enthronement ceremony for Lati Rinpoche Tulku took place at the Gaden Lachi prayer hall in Mundgod, India. This auspicious event was held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 and confirmed Rinpoche as a "Tsokchen Tulku," or a tulku that is recognized by the Central Tibetan Administration (formerly known as the Tibetan Government-in-Exile). Donations and offerings were sent by GSTDL for any supplies, materials, equipment and accompanying rituals for the ceremony.
2. During the past few years, GSTDL has embarked through renovation and reconstruction work at the center. This included room renovations, including a new stronger built terrace for our resident teacher, Geshe Phuntsok Gyeltsen. The most recent work (conducted June 27- July 17, 2022) included remodeling and reconstruction of 2 bathrooms on the second floor, resurfacing of the wooden floor on the 1st floor, and repainting of the walls in the living room of the first floor, at the cost of approximately $25,000 USD. Phase 2 work will include repainting the stairway and hallway of the 2nd floor and renovation of HHDL's guest room (including modifications to the storage room and ceiling lighting). GSTDL welcomes any donations or offerings dedicated to supporting these ongoing building maintenance projects.
3. Ven. Tulku Tenzin Thardoe and H.E. Lati Rinpoche Tulku recently traveled to Dharamsala to attend the Heruka Initiation conferred by HHDL on July 8-11, 2022.
4. Due to a couple of cases of COVID-19 infection at GSTDL, the center is temporarily suspending teachings. We thank those who have expressed their concerned and can assure that all those affected are now free of infection. Teachings will resume soon. Our priority is the health and safety of our teachers and students and we want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.
