Dear GSTDL students,
We hope this finds you in great health and spirits. We pray that you all are safe and mindful of your well-being and that of those around you. On the occasion of his tenth birthday, I would like to offer you an update on Tulku Tenzin Thardoe. Tulku is well and growing very big and tall. He is healthy and very active. He loves to play all sorts of games and sports with his friends including tag, hide-and-seek, frisbee, cricket, soccer, and street hockey. Tulku and I have stayed cautious during the current monastery Covid lockdown and continue to follow necessary safety precautions.
Tulku is very intelligent and inquisitive. Tulku's daily learning consists of memorizing and reviewing prayers, practicing Tibetan handwriting, basic monastic debate, and English speaking, reading, and writing. Science, math, and art also supplement his studies. At present, Tulku is memorizing "Prayer for the Flourishing of Lama Tsongkhapa's Teachings " (Lo-Sang Gyel-Ten Ma in Tibetan) and does daily recitations of the Guru Puja, Chanting the Names of Manjushri, the Sitatapatra Prayer, and Tara prayers among others. As time goes by, I hope to incorporate more and more debate studies into Tulku's daily routine so that he has a head start before joining official debate lessons and morning and evening debate sessions at the monastery in a few years time.
Tulku offers his best wishes and prayers to you and your families. May you be free from all obstacles and experience only peace, happiness, and success. May you have everything you wish for and may you never be separated from the blessings and guidance of the Three Jewels. Please remember that every moment is an opportunity for Dharma practice, and deeply contemplate its value in your life.
Below are pictures of Tulku and some of his recent artwork. We hope you enjoy viewing them. Thank you for your unwavering care and support. Please continue to pray for Tulku Tenzin Thardoe's success, long life, and the complete fulfillment of his wishes.
Sincerely,
Geshe Jampa Norbu
