Je Tsongkhapa writes in his colophon: “This brief presentation of the practices of the stages of the path to enlightenment written in the format of a memorandum was composed by the well-read monk, the renunciate Lobsang Drakpa at the great mountain retreat of Geden Nampar Gyalwai Ling” (Trans. Geshé Thupten Jinpa, 2007). Many practitioners memorize these songs and recite them to aid their meditational practice.
